    Pat,

Lets hope their relationship with boingo is better than it was with iPass ;)

Now, if they could just get their nodes in Dublin Airport working….

I hope Boingo get onto them to actually *keep* their nodes alive…

    Bernard:
I agree, I had such an awful experience in Brussels lat March while roaming with Boingo.
I reported that to them and they said “It’s our partner’s fault, we don’t care”. yeah, I was having fun in reconnecting every 3 minutes because of a 70%packet loss on wifi link.
I then realized they look only for big numbers (one million hotspots!! OMG we’re so c00l!!) and canceled my subscription.

They MUST care about compliants received by customers and remove agreements with bad partners.

    Hi cla,

I wasn’t complaining about Boingo, I have only used their service a few times over the past few years.

I was actually complaining about Eircom’s WiFi network.

They have alot of nodes (by the sheer fact of they being Eircom), but more often than not the nodes are not working. This is definately the case in Dublin Airport, and around a number of nodes in Dublin city centre.

The biggest kick in the arse is, the DAA (Dublin Airport Authority) had signed an exclusive agreement with Eircom to provide WiFi access in the airport buildings (http://www.esyurl.com/dp9 and http://www.esyurl.com/dpa).

So essentially they sign-up only ONE provider, who doesn’t provide proper service, and then block others from providing any service.

My point about Boingo getting onto Eircom was, I’d hope they require them to provide some sort of quality of service (slow is fine, as long as it works).

    I can’t comment on Boingo’s customer service..
