I have been running surveys among friends and can only seem to find a tiny (sub 2%) group of people who are buying the new 3G iPhone in Ireland.

Whats going on here?
With queues already in place at the Apple store in New York, O2′s UK website being swamped by demand and a seriously upgraded phone [...]

O2 have announced their iPhone 3G pricing packages

“The 3G device will be available in an 8GB model and a 16GB model.
The 8GB iPhone 3G will cost €49 on the €100 monthly iPhone tariff, €99 on the €65 tariff and €169 on the €45 tariff.
The 16GB iPhone 3G will cost €129 on the €100 monthly [...]

I am really hoping that O2 Ireland don’t mess this one up.
We should expect to see the 8GB iPhone at €127 in one months time if uncle Steve was correct in what he said “The maximum price anywhere is $199″
So I wake up this morning thinking I will pre-register, flick on twitter and see messages [...]

If all goes according to script tomorrow Steve should announce the 3G iPhone.
There are hundreds of rumours flying around and it will be interesting to see how twitter copes tomorrow.

Fring was first of the gates last week with its iPhone application that only works on jailbroken phones.
It got thousands of mentions and obviously kudos to Fring for its bravery in being first.

I am totally disgusted by O2′s behaviour with this iPhone price reduction in the UK, I put a call in again and got the usual no comment bullshit.
