just stumbled across this...
Did anything ever come of it, sounds like a brilliant idea to me.

Definitely interested in this too. City centre would be great but not too important if a location in the suburbs had parking.
Again I'd happily pay the monthly fee even if I don't use all the time.
Maybe there could be one or two desks which could be rented out on a daily basis, pre-booked a week or so in advance for those 'occasionals' - dunno if that would work though.
24 access is important.

I'd be interested for 1 day a week - agree with wifi and coffee comments above. Also need to think about travel, either hand for park-and-ride or cheap parking nearby. Of course if I was being really good, I'd take the bus.

I'd be on for it. 24 hr access would be nice tho. Some of us have day <strike>jobs </strike> hobbies that may get in the way of the real work.

I don't care about VOIP and I'm pretty sure everyone uses mobiles, so with a big pipe everyone can sort out their own skype/whatever for occasional conference calls, etc.

WiFi, however, is a must-have.

I'd charge a random day rate to my friend James of €25, same as the weekly rate for the steady goers.

AFAIC, it must be city centre, by which I mean walkable to coffee in under three minutes.

And for the record, I'll happily pay the monthly whack and never use my desk (I like all you people but I prefer my turret of gloom and my PJs, thanks) just to use the conference room when I need it.

Alternatively, you can just charge me €100 a go for that, I guess :)

Yes lots going on in this 'space' at the mo.

Blick studios has just launched in Belfast which is not just focused on technical/web freelancers but anyone working in broader creative industries.
http://www.blickstudios.org/

It's also worth check out the hub in London - hubs modelled on this one, most with a social enterprise focus, are popping up all over the world. They've also got a whole 'franchise' like set of tools you can buy into. Most people hotdesk, use board/meeting rooms and take part in events etc.

Cheers

Please include me - Have tried to access Hot Desking before just for the benefits of interacting with other people in a similar line of work... But no success. This sounds like a winner - I will spread the word.

[...] Pat Phelan, Mulley and others hit on an idea they should have started long ago - superefficient office sharing. Arising from a Twitter discussion. Love it. If you’re Cork and interested, read more. Or read more about the existing co-working networks in Dublin or Belfast, here. [...]
