Easy Group launches partnership with Rebtel
I was browsing through my feeds and read this from Ewan.
Rebtel and easyMobile ink mobile VoIP deal
This is a very interesting development for the Swedish company who appear to be on the up and up especially this year with some large announcements and some big deals inked.
The easy group are one of Europe’s largest movers of people and the Rebtel philosophy will fit right in there.

Right now Rebtel are the only one of a vast bunch to offer total free calls by using the unique “hang up, call back” technology, it may be slightly clunky but it gets you a free call when others are dropping the “free calling” mantra left, right and centre.

many people who look at rebtel as an option have the same issue. it appears at first to be an option for travelers to save on calling home. the problem is that it does nothing to reduce the roaming charges which are often a far larger expense than the international call termination itself.
the other big issue is that callers do not want to involve the person they are calling in there money saving method. i see this as the biggest flaw in the ‘hang up, call back’ method. while it may work for calls to family members and close friends; it certainly does not for those urgent business calls.
“while it may work for calls to family members and close friends; it certainly does not for those urgent business calls.”
Hey Tom,
imagine living abroad.. Calling family and friends on a daily basis… You would spend a fortune with normal Telcos (no you would not you would not call home frequently). But this is the idea of Rebtel. To call your relatives free of charge from mobile to mobile. They usually have tons of free minutes on their mobile plans.
You can also call business at home very cheap (calls to landline without the need to ask for callback).
