Had I known

The last 12 months have been pretty manic.
Lots of stuff I couldnt make including Techcrunch 50 and now looks like Le Web is going to go the way of Techcrunch 50.
This year has been short on events, I made it to Simply Zesty winter camp for two hours, great bunch of people and an excellent presentation by Don O Leary of Google, made it to Ecomm and mobile 2.0 Barcelona.
I think its my longest away from San Francisco in four years, 8 months and who is counting (me) and now I live in Dublin Monday to Friday.
I was feeling a bit cranky this weekend until I saw Hugh’s post “Had I known”

Nice line but it seems to sugges that success was assumed to be a destination. It really is a journey, with changing goals and ever harder targets to reach. As for losers, well some of them try harder (to paraphrase the old Avis-Hertz comparative advertising tagline). :-)

You are VERY missed here in Silicon Valley. Lots of people ask me about you and when you’ll be back. Don’t forget about us!

Well the reason you are putting all the hard work in is so as you can go wherever the fuck you want in the future! Short term pan long term gain or something like that :)
