I half thought about buying petrol and storing it in my shed but the stuff is way too flammable so that’s a bit dangerous.

They also have an annual sub of at least $29.95 which would put a serious dent in any savings made unless you drive a serious number of miles.

Oh, and it’s US only so not much use to you or I..

@johnkeyes i agree with you but digging same region to the last drop is not going to preserve any equilibrium…
I wish we could all put water instead of oil – but we are just going to transfer the problem from oil to water.
Unless we all decide to move to Manhattan and walk…

Motorcheck only allows you to lock in price for a week though

It’s not web 2.0 by any means, but to a much smaller scale, motorcheck.ie works on a similar concept. It allows you to lock in a petrol price each week. Only works at Statoil stations though.

They text you the bottom price each week and no matter how much petrol goes up by during the week, you are guaranteed that price, or the lower price if it falls. You use the card to pay and are billed monthly.

I ride the bus and my employer pays me to do it.

Nice idea but it is just going to increase the speculation!!!!
WRONG IMO.
Govt should cut taxes, release huge reserves they are holding on and give a momentum to dig in preserves area.
Price of crude per barrel should go down with such measures.
Prepaying is just going to raise price of gallon faster.
In terms of business model it’s definitely a good idea but consequences will be terrible.
