Skype is still a very good service and the default VOIP for almost all internet users (if they need VOIP).

However I don't really see what they've added to that core business over the last few years. They brought out their mobile phone (the only person I know who had one hated it), but the core online offering is a bit stagnant. This is not unlike how their parent ebay has been hugely stagnant after taking massive market share.

They need to innovate and improve if they don't want to get overtaken by those small fish in the long run.

I'm not sure well website statistics work
when you are trying to measure the success of a
VoIP company.
I only ever visit Truphone's (or Skype's) site for
an upgrade or top-up, both of which are rare, say
every couple of months, but I use their services at
least twice a week, and am logged into skype most days.

This favors JahJah of course because all their calls
are placed via their web site, where as Skype and Truphone have
non-web client applications.

I use skype for my home phone and use it at work to allow me to remotely assist other people with software applications. Just think what they could do with a little more marketing.

I'm a big fan of Skype, use the IM part daily and find the unlimited world calls subscription really, really good. I just wished it wasn't completely closed so it could be integrated better into other systems.
