   Works for all apps Kev, just need to get some USD vouchers, ebay or friends in USA works for me.

   Get a code from 4saleusa.com click change country, enter an american address, change your payment method to voucher code and hey presto you have access to American store and the ability download all your tvshows/hidef movies !!

   Perhaps a silly Q but if I succeed in setting this up does it mean that Apple TV would now be a worthwhile purchase?

   Interestingly / amazingly the bones of this are on Apples site http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534

   If you’re juggling Irish and US accounts you will get the odd error – especially when updating an app on iPhone/iPad itself – saying your iTunes account is only valid for purchases in X country. Generally if you simply go back in to the app store and try the update for a second time it works. Apple’s T & Cs have changed recently though:

   TERMS OF SALE
   U.S. SALES ONLY
   Purchases or rentals (as applicable) from the iTunes Store are available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions, and are not available in any other location. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Store from outside of the available territory. Apple may use technologies to verify such compliance.

   Before this I think it was just based on where your credit card was registered. Example – my wife is from the US, has a US credit card and as a result we have a fully functioning Apple TV – movie rentals, TV shows etc etc.

   John – saw your post after I posted mine. YES!! Absolutely, – It’s fantastic, been using mine for 2 years now. Rent a movie for cheaper than here and it’s ready to watch in 30 seconds (HD movies maybe 2-5 minutes). Make sure you store your food out of arms reach from the couch cos you’ll never get off the thing again!

   hey there, im all signed up to the US store – Dare I use my paypal account or Irish Credit card or will it all come crashing down?? Is buying iTunes US vouchers the only way?

    I have an iPad 3G. If I download from the American app store with vouchers, how will that affect when I want to connect to 3G service in Au.

    I do travel a lot particularly in US Mexico Indonesia. I just hope i can use the 3G service in those countries for my iPad.

    I know in the US it is impossible to get prepaid 3G service for the iPhone. Mexico no problem. I thought the iPad would be the solution at least in the US to get 3G service.

    Any comments ?

    This doesn’t work for me.

    I am located in Japan and it let me create one account without a credit card, but doesn’t give me any option other than to give a credit card.

    I also found that if I used the same email address it looped me back to

    “sign in with you existing account or create a new account”

    so I think you need a different email address, which I tried with the same results when it came to payment options it ONLY gave me a choice of which type of credit card.

    The only thing I didn’t try is turning of remember my password because I don’t know how.

    I’m dying to get dragon dictation but I need a U.S. account.

    Could someone please help me?

    I think I know why, could someone confirm this? I haven’t yet been able to connect my wi fi router (because the instructions are in Japanese and I need English help from my isp come Monday.

    I can connect to podcasts, but it says I need wi-fi to get music or video.

    Listen I tried but it does NOT WORK, I’m from South Africa and on the USA version, the payment option does not give a “none” option, I tried this over and over and over. Can you help me? Please email me on what to do.

    Seems to work for others but not for me, WHY?

    I’m from South Africa. All the steps work, as you’ve listed them above, but once I’ve selected none and filled in an address; the next page displays: “Please contact customer support to complete your account.”

    Please, any suggestions?

    How do you change the iTunes store to USA. It just says go into iTunes and change to us?
