HTC Hero, amazing if you finish work at 2pm

Htc Hero

My Htc Hero arrived yesterday, we bought it to test with some new MAXroam stuff and I have to say the improvement in Android since the G1 has been amazing.
Menu layout and movement between applications is quick and intuitive and graphics are amazing.
There is only one slight issue, after an overnight charge and 5 hours of use its dead by 2pm.
Seriously, why is no one doing any serious work on batteries?
Anyways back to my Nokia E72 which does what it says on the tin and lasts all day no matter what I do.

Who needs batteries… we want atomic power!

At least a kinetic charger would help top the phone up during the day, but there’s no money in that I guess

Where on earth did you find a Nokia E72 !?!? can’t wait to get hold of this handset, is it released in other countries besides UK?

Wow, what you doing with it, I use my hero pretty hard and get a full day. I have found the battery got better after a few full discharge and charges. I use WiFi gps the lot and still get enough.

What!? My Hero lasts a minimum of 24 hours. Are you constantly using GPS whilst watching videos and switching network types? That is the only way I could think to drain the battery that fast!

E72 looks nice, not much different to the E71 though is it? Better camera, otherwise much the same?

At least you can get to the battery on the Hero if you want to replace it, unlike other smartphones (cough, iPhone!).

You probably have a defective battery. I know this happened to some G1 owners. Many reported improved battery life after getting the battery swapped out.

I’m curious too…where did you get a Nokia E72 before it’s come on the market!!

I’m using an E71 and its battery life is superb. Haven’t decided yet whether to get the E72.

Does anyone know if any of the Irish operators are gonna pick up the Hero or any other Android phone?
