Ireland’s Adam Carroll crowned A1GP Champion

Its not every day Ireland can boast a new World Champion…
Then again, it’s not every day Ireland produces a world-beating driving-force such as Adam Carroll.
The 26-year-old from Portadown today took a quantum leap towards his dream of Formula One stardom by clinching his own world championship crown in the prestigious A1GP World Cup of Motorsport .
Adam claimed a double pole-position on Saturday and continued today (Sun) with an incredible one-two finish in both Sprint and Feature races.
An ecstatic Adam Carroll said:
“This is the most exciting day of my life – I can’t believe it has all come together in the way it has. This is my dream come true. Santa’s gift of a go-kart when I was six has paid off and I want to dedicate my success to everyone who has believed in me and in particular A1 Team Ireland boss Mark Gallagher.”
Team Principal Mark Gallagher added:
“This has been a very special day for Adam Carroll and Team Ireland! I believe this to be the greatest sense of satisfaction anyone can imagine. We all have dreams in life and often they never happen – today all of our dreams came true in the culmination of many years’ hard work with an Irish success story and a new World Champion”
Team Ireland is sponsored by MAXroam and BPI Telecom.

Its not that often you sponsor a World Champion, well done Adam Carroll
