Jeez how did I get here part2
Back in the Cork I sat down with the restaurant owner Jim Ryan a Cork native who had attended Thai cusine college in Sydney Australia to learn his trade. With a vision of improving our Thai food I spoke to him of my new business plan and he agreed to join me.We formed a company.P.R recruitment and we decided to test the sytem by bringing the first new employee to work in Taste of Thailand.
We poured over the paperwork that Patrick had sent us from Kuala Lumpur and picked a young Bangladeshi lad named Kamal Hossain who had been working in Malaysia.
Six weeks later @ 6am I met Kamal in Cork airport.I helped him carry his luggage which I later found out contained 500 razor blades,22 bottles of shampoo and 20 bars of soap and a bag of rice “he wasnt sure if we had them in Ireland”
At the time I had no awareness of how much I would come to love and respect Kamal and develop a deep respect and love for the Bangladeshi people and had no clue that my young Bnagladeshi colleague would lead me down a path that would see me far removed from Thai restaurant kitchens
Terrific start to the blog Pat – I love the narrative style which forces one to subscribe to follow the intriguing story. Keep it up!
Pat,
for a second I thought that you were going to tell us about your campaign to free the Old Head in KInsale! All the best with your new site I am going to take a look now.
