MAXroam saves its customers a million dollars.

Well I hope I wont be hanging of a Spanish balcony trying to do a TC50 interview with Michael Arrington this year.
I cant believe its nine months since we nervously launched MAXroam in San Francisco.
Its been a wild ride but its turned out amazingly good.

We have customers in 52 countries, alliances in Europe and the USA, Operators breathing down our necks begging to go back to the good old days and a fantastic team.

We were doing a rough estimates yesterday and we reckon we passed in early May a million dollars saved in roaming fees by our customers.
This is a tremendous milestone for us and we are exceptionally proud of the fact that we have kept a million in our customers pocket and away from the fat cats of the telephony world.

Heres hoping that the next nine months are as good and that we get to TC50 as guests this year.

Pat, I am tremendously proud of MAXroam as an Irish company that really does the business on an international level, and of you personally for being such an enormously admirable force.

Congratulations. Nine months and a hell of a baby you’ve made there.

    Pat,
make it SIP-compatible (so that I can receive calls over wifi) for a monthly fee and I’ll immediately subscribe to it.
As I wrote 8 months ago to the support, now with the EU roaming agreement often MaxRoam rates are higher than the rates of my local carrier.
I looked also at USA, where I am now, and the MR rates are lower than Vodafone (IT) and TIM, but higher (or similar) than Wind.
The capability to have different numbers associated with the same account is amazing.
With SIP you’ll earn the incoming call connecting free but you’ll save me the rate to receive the call (the cust support told me that the rate for incoming calls is because I hale a landline number, while with roam4free it was a premium number that allowed you to give me free incoming calls).

Hope you’ll post about the new jawbone too :) I emailed it to you as soon as it was announced.

    Regards

Congrats Pat, I wouldn’t be surprised if its even more than that has been saved at this stage. Considering how some people who travel would buy a sim card in every country as they interrail around europe etc.

Certainly you’ve saved me a bunch.
