MogoTix, the future of smart Ticketing
I don’t write enough about new products but once in a while something comes along that really has potential and MogoTix is definitely that. A nice piece from Ryan over at Gigaom drew them to my attention and with Dave Slugger McClure behind them the future looks bright.
This is huge market that is in serious need of disruption and having played with MogoTix I am convinced that this could be a game changer. The interface is really excellent but the costs are a touch on the high side, The service is free for free events but for paid events, the service costs $0.99 per ticket plus 2.5% of the price of the ticket (but maxs out at $9.95 per ticket)
Its absolutely simple to use for the event organizer, guests can be checked in using the MogoTix app as they arrive. The system lets organizers see who have arrived, broadcast the names of guests as they arrive and send out alerts to guests before the event. For users, the benefit is less chance of losing your ticket. You just use your phone.
I think this is one of the smartest applications I have seen in a long time, its simplicity is the key in my opinion
Blog awards ticketing Mr Mulley?

Hi Pat,
You don’t have to go to the US to find industry software game changers. We’re right here in Ireland and we never forget: http://www.EventElephant, an event organiser’s best friend!
It’s a different approach to the ticket masters of the event industry. It’s about giving back control to the event organiser and tapping into the new world of social networking. With EventElephant’s “set-up to “sign-up” online event registration system event organisers can:
Create an online event registration website in minutes
Sell tickets online and take secure online payments
Plan, promote and manage your events from the one place
Event organisers have control of the database for marketing the event and for future events – email updates, email content & format etc: control over ticket prices,– being able to decrease the ticket price if an event is moving slowly or increase the ticket price if the reverse is true. And it costs alot less.
Event organisers can create a branded website – not possible with some of the other ticketing systems out there.
And, increasingly important, with our Facebook Integration Application, event organisers can tap into the power of viral marketing to promote their events. In the past, events were promoted through “word of mouth”, now it’s “world of mouth” with social networking platforms. Event organisers can create a buzz before, during and after the event through Facebook and social networking: http://www.eventelephant.com/facebook
What’s more event organisers love us! You don’t have to be a techie: our online event registration platform is easy to use: all the security and PCI requirements are sorted.
Since the introduction of our Facebook Integration Application, we are seeing amazing results: our Facebook website referreals have shot up from an insignificant 105 in May to over 11,000 in September.
We are signing up nearly 500 new event organisers on a monthly basis across the UK and Ireland.
You can sign up for free! http://www.eventelephant.com
What’s more, we will give a 20% discount to anyone who sets up an event via a link from your site between now and the end of November! email me for the PatPhelan code: una.coleman@eventelephant.com
We are the 2010 Digital Media Award winner for Best Innovative Start-Up.
