No good turn goes unmentioned

I had a stroke of good fortune this week besides the obvious one.
I really dislike answering caller ID withheld and mostly ignore them, I had been pestered with them for the last few weeks and just wouldn’t bother.
Got a call last night from a number and finally picked it up.
It was someone from Canada Life saying I have a savings policy that had matured and where should they send the cheque.
I took it out when a friend was getting sober, he got a job with them and sold me his first policy and the pay day came yesterday.
It was a huge surprise and means The Phelan’s might get to Monaco for the F1 GP, I have wanted to go forever but couldn’t afford it.
No good turn is forgotten :-)

Pat if you have to scrape together every penny you have get there because you will never see anything like it. I have been 3 times (once camping and totally broke, once working in the pits for Mclaren and once on a yacht) and out of all the events I have ever been to it is miles ahead of anything for pure spectacle. You will just be blown away by it all. I know that area inside out as have worked there for years so call me before you book anything as you should stay down in Antibes and get the train into Monaco. you MUST go at any cost as you’ll never see anything like it.

Hey Pat. What a little stroke of genius! And what better way to celebrate. I think taking Niall’s advice is recommended :) )

    Hi Pat,
i have been a consistent reader of your blog.. I must say, its sometimes an interesting material especially as it concerns telecoms. Recently, you’ve been completely off track, “Firing blanks”.. I hope you get back on track fast enough else you may risk loosing non Irish (and some Irish) readers like me.
    Enjoy!

Yes, gereat gift indeed. I always pickup caller iD or not. Especially since some international calls do NOT always show caller ID.
