This is going to be absolutely huge.

Nokia now allows it customer to totally personalize their handsets. At present its limited to the 7310 Supernova but I expect it to spread to other models asap.
Nike id has been been an incredible success for Nike and I can guarantee that Nokia will spread this across its global sites.
At present its only accessible from France and the UK.

This is a great idea and I see the biggest winners being businesses who can use this as a marketing tool! I’d be handing these out to employees, competitions etc as people carry their phone with them everywhere! Great idea!
skinit.com did this really well years ago already called the Skinit Customizer – you can do the same type of thing with any electronic device they support- phones, gaming devices, laptops, etc

Getting your phone “skinned” is just the thin edge, even getting it’s functionality personalised is the dell-thin edge. I think this could be the tip of an “open collaboration strategy” at Nokia. i.e. we have the platform, program on it, make your phone, put it on any network you like.
