I also work for Nokia, just wanted to comment that we’re aware about the google-apps hosted domains having setup issues, and that we’re constantly working on resolving bugs and improving performance of the client. Keep the feedback coming through the feedback button on email.nokia.com!

I’ll pass the feedback into the program, as I have an E90 which has a lot of battery capacity and I’m running our push Mail for Exchange client for my work email I don’t see any additional hit as work email outnumbers
the home stuff by 100:1.

Hmmm just noticed in my original post that after 15 years I’ve still not learned to spell Nokia

Hi Mark. I am using push rather than time updates, however not downloading much on this account. The value for me is in real time delivery. I’m hoping that as it’s a beta release a future version will be kinder to the battery.

First up I work for Nokai so I can’t really comment other than to say I use the client for my home email and just wanted to suggest that in the setting you can change the client from ‘push’ to time period updates if you want to save a bit of battery life. It will only make a difference if you are getting high email traffic volumes though.

I like the client, in particular the fact that on my E51 it allow me to have 2 inboxes as standy plugins on the home screen (SMS & email). However the app kills the battery. I’ve temporarily disabled it & battery life has soared.

I don’t like that it eventually won’t be free and that’s not available to all latest symbian phones (s60?) like E50 and similar.

I also don’t understand why I am forced to let Nokia know my passwords – why can’t I run it on my ophone (many email servers support email push, that is IMAP IDLE command, so I don’t feel the need to have nokia’s servers in between).

Bloody thing won’t even let me sign-up using my LouderVoice account which is hosted by Google Apps. Grrrr.
