O2 Ireland launch iPad service

I was having coffee with Damien Mulley, John Peavoy and Enda Crowley when O2 Ireland and iPad was mentioned, my ears pricked up and it turned out that O2 have launched an Irish iPad SIM today.
So off we went to the O2 store and purchased one, €20 for 5GB, this is a really competitive price for local Irish use equaling around 4c per megabyte.
Its installed now, works beautifully and will be perfect for when I am not roaming, its a really great move by O2 Ireland I am extremely impressed.
While I was down there Enda passed me a really interesting postcard (below)
Get an O2 “Social Experience” SIM and spend €20 per month for that you get
Unlimited Twitter
Facebook
MySpace (HUH?)
Free 02 to O2 calls and SMS
These are two great products from O2 and its nice to see them “back in game”.

o2 also have a 15gb tethering package for €20.
In a completely unrelated note, there exists a jailbroken app that shares an iPhone’s 3G connection over wifi.
Just sayin
Hmmm…. that doesn’t look like a ‘micro sim’.

I am using the jail broken iPhone app to turn my iPhone into a hotspot. Seeing as though I always carry phone, it works great! I didn’t see the point of paying extra for the pad and also for extra data when I can use my iPhone data plan without extra cost.
