Pinoy Twitterers launch their own sms service
Philippine fans of Twitter had a hard time with the international SMS cost as we all do. Twitter only provides US, Canada, India and UK numbers for inbound SMS and the cost of these are quite prohibitive.
One resourceful group have built their own international SMS gateway for Philippine Twitter fans and its now live and it uses your inclusive SMS from Globe Telecom. With the huge user base of Japanese Twitter being so close I can see this becoming a massive success.
Obviously its using the Twitter API plus a simple SMS gateway to pop to the London number at wholesale cost of around 2c, anyone for an Irish dedicated Twitter number?
