Quittin Monday

lung-ashtray

Tomorrow is the day that I shall attempt to conquer the dreaded weed again
Three times in three years and every time I go back my health gets worse. This time I must persevere, my asthma medication is double and I have had 2 really bad chest infections this year already.
So its patches, Allen Carr and what ever else needs to be done for the next few weeks to get me over the hump.

Wasn’t Allen Carr the one that died of lung cancer…….. Still, best of luck. I’m off them 9 years now and the first 3 are the hardest :-)

We’ll admire you _even_ more once you kick the habit.

    Do what it takes.

Best of luck with Pat, I know it’s not an easy one. My dad gave up & went back ten times but the last time he went cold turkey & decided to take something up ‘in place’ of it & joined the local cycling club. Random choice considering he hadn’t been on a bike in about 20 years but he just fell in love with it and every time he thought of buying cigarettes he thought ‘nope, il put that towards upgrading the bike & I’ll go for a quick run on it later’.

The world of entrepreneurs (especially in Europe) needs you to live long and strong. I really hope that you are able to quit this time for good.

It’s bloody tough Pat. Many times tried and many times failed but finally succeeded back in ’98.

To be honest, I think cold turkey is the only way that works permanently. As Allen always said, it’s about state of mind.

Repeat after me, Pat Phelan is a non-smoker.

Now go kick some butt butt.

Random reading the chapters in Carr’s book, was less tedious to finish.

Forget the patches as you are still having the nicotine fix, so you will still be dependent and not clean after the two week hump.

As you gave up the drink as an alcoholic, you clearly have the resources to succeed.

Good luck mate. I wish I had the willingness to stop too.
