Rocketboom founder sells his Twitter account, soul going up tomorrow

In what seems like a desperate attempt to drum up Publicity Rocketboom founder Andrew Baron has put his Twitter username up for sale.

Rocketboom

This is possibly the lamest attempt at a publicity drum up I have ever seen, why would anyone want to buy the guys name.

If a user had an interesting name for sale like jmarrington maybe it would be worth a few bucks but for this not me.

If the practice picks up steam, I wonder whether Twitter itself will weigh in on the concept of selling accounts. A TOS adjustment might be called for.

Even though it might considered be a lame publicity stunt, it’s working isn’t it? A huge number of people are linking to the account and linking to Rocketboom.com.

Also, I’ve got the Twitter username “x” and I’ve had several people offer me $100 for it, although I’m not especially inclined to sell it.
