SIMable, unlock your SIM not your phone

This is an interesting one which crossed my path today.
SIMable unlocks your SIM, it allows you to put your SIM in any network locked phone and talk without the hassle of having to get your phone unlocked.
simABLE

“SIMable is an innovative little chip that frees your SIM card to work in the vast majority of mobile phones. We all know that the very latest 3G devices can be very difficult and expensive to unlock and SIMable is the 10 second solution without invalidating any warranty on your precious handset.

SIM SIM

Fitting SIMable is quick and simple and full instructions can be downloaded here. This involves pressing out a very small hole in your SIM card and we even include a free cutting tool with every purchase. Once done simply align SIMable to your SIM card, insert into your locked mobile phone and start talking”

SIMable works in a variety of devices, hopefully this list will expand soon

Clever idea, Pat. Very clever! I don’t own any locked phones anymore, but if I did I’d give this a try.

You lost me, and every other “normal person” when you asked us to “cut a hole” in our card with a simple…. eh ah, not going to happen. Press hash, 123 Unlock, and we are all interested :)

What are people’s experiences with cutting SIMs? Strikes fear in me. Needed for DuoSIM product too.

how about future MAXROAM SIM’s that work in locked phones out of the box. pre-cut and ready to go?

I actually bought one of these and gave it a go. It worked perfectly. If you look at the instructions, you see that the bit of the sim they cut is actually just plastic or whatever. Nothing important. Seems perfect to me. And my 3G is spot on.
