Sony Vaio P visually stunning-weak engine

Vaio P
My brother works for Sony and I got to play with the new Sony Vaio P yesterday, there is not much can be said on first inspection besides WOW, its a piece of art.
You need to handle this machine yourself to appreciate it, its almost featherweight with a really impressive keyboard.
It also has an embedded 3G radio so throw away that dumb dongle folks, I set this up in store and it worked instantly. There is a major issue though, it comes preloaded with Vista which is an insane mistake for the category we are all calling netbooks, these machines are just not powerful enough to do the kind of heavy lifting that Vista requires.
High spec model which comes with a 4 and 5 hour battery and Vista Business costs around €1250

    totally agree.

I was playing with one in KL/Malaysia today and couldn’t get any of the stores to sell me one.
    all pre-orders only. :-(

come in 2 models low and high end. the highend is a 64Gb SSD drive.
2Gb RAM which is high for the netbook but too low for vista.
they retail for 2799RM and 3799RM here

Vista on the Vaio P will hurt me and some of my legacy devices that don’t work well with Microsoft’s DRM measures. But having Vista pre-installed means it’s relatively inexpensive to get Windows 7 in a few months.
