Techcrunch 50 the roundup
I have just arrived back in Ireland and wanted to get my post up
Firstly congrats to Yammer, definitely not my choice but congrats anway, I think innovation is not a copy of a pre-existing product but seeing something new.
I think the feeling from the floor was Swype but that wasn’t my particular favourite, I loved Angstro by Salim Ismail and Rohit Khare, I think they solve a huge problem and may have a winner on their hands.

“Ångströ both disambiguates names and analyzes social graphs to prioritize those relationships that matter to you most”
The show itself was excellent, the venue was much better than last year with plenty of room to move around, I did however feel that the third day was a bridge too far, I know the guys would have their work cut out to squeeze everyone into two days but the third day is a killer. MAXroam exhibited in the alumni hall and we had nice table with a power supply and logo banner. The food was pretty good and the wrap up party was excellent, I am not sure that I liked the American Idol style of picking the winner though.
We had a party they night before the show kicked off in Camp Dublin as Marc Rochman called it, what a turn up, its not often you get to answer your front door to Gabe Rivera and Dave Sifry
Of course as everyone knows at this stage, I managed to almost write-off Mike’s iPhone but we managed to sort it in the end, not before I nearly have a nervous breakdown though.
A couple of people who made the show for me, my partner Bernard Murphy, Florian Seroussi, Loic Le Meur, Jackie Danicki, Loren Feldman, David Marcus, Ilan Abehassera, Om Malik, Rishi, Salim Ismail, Mike Arrington, Jason Calacanis (we discussed hangover advice
) and the amazing Chris Kennedy our platform manager at MAXroam.
MAXroam had an amazing show with even a superstar visitor, lots of VP biz dev’s was walking the floor and we made a lot of new contacts.
Enterprise Ireland blew the ball out of the park this week for us, David Smith and Jack Kissane gave us unlimited time and set-up a meeting with the fantastic Stuart Coulson in the headquarters in Mountain View on Friday.
Lots more pictures from Florian Seroussi

Great post.
Exactly how I feel:
“I think innovation is not a copy of a pre-existing product but seeing something new”
We have been doing road shows together for a while. This one really one of best we ever done…Great people, great atmosphere and good business contacts.
See you soon buddy.
Chris Kennedy is a total star for MAXroam - he was always on the stand and doing a great job. Watch out he doesn’t get poached, Pat.
BTW, you forgot to mention that our party also attracted two people from NASA - sadly, they left their uniforms at home.
Cheers for the great mention Pat. And always nice to hear such praise from the wonderful Jackie Danicki too - great to finally meet you!
