The Morgan Hotel Dublin fails on all points

After a couple of fantastic experiences in Dublin I hit rock bottom tonight with The Morgan Hotel.
The Morgan Hotel Dublin
I was expecting my wonderful room with
* Interactive T.V. ’s
* Deluxe bathrobes- None
* In room movies and music on demand
* Fully interactive wi fi network connectivity-None
The Morgan Hotel
* Message retrieval and work desk- well the phone was a €5 job from BT and the desk in is in the video below
* In room safe and minibar in standard & deluxe rooms
* Air-conditioning in deluxe rooms, none in my deluxe

This is not what you come to expect from a luxury brand plus the noise is deafening, wireless internet is unusable, the data port is hanging off the wall with no cable in the amazingly filthy desk.
The Morgan Hotel
Stains everywhere and some very bizarre stains on the chair in the room plus two single beds pushed together in what was described as king bed room is just not good enough. Its now 1am and the noise in my bedroom is deafening from the nightclub downstairs
Fail to The Morgan, Nil points.

    Your review is incomplete because you didn’t try the penthouse or the Airstream trailer on the roof of the Morgan Hotel. And what about a Qik look at the lady at the lift?

    Very surprised with that. I have stayed at their sister hotel the beacon on numerous occasions and it is superb. I think they are owned by the fitzpatrick group. You should enter your comments on trip advisor

    I have always thought the Morgan looked top-class (due to the trendy bar downstairs). Bubble burst now seeing your photos.

    I have stayed in the Beacon (sister hotel) in Sandyford and that was excellent.

    Rip-off Ireland at its best. You should try the Dylan (off Baggott Street). I have stayed there twice and the service and rooms are excellent. I think it is in around the same price as the Morgan.

    The problem is the number of hotels that were thrown up around the country for tax breaks. They were fine when the economy was booming and profits were being made but now times are tight and hotels can no longer get enough custom to stay in business. Standards across the whole industry have dropped.

    I stayed in one major new hotel (I wont name it for obvious reasons) down in Waterford that didnt have water in the bathrooms for a couple of hours each morning. No taps, showers or toilet. When I rang the desk to complain the lady who answered said “Of course, no problem I’ll send someone out to fix that now” as if the water gets turned on and off regularly.

    I’ve only ever seen a larger than single bed NOT made from two singles, and that was in Fitzpatrick’s Hotel in Chicago.

    I’m fairly sure that every other hotel we’ve stayed in has had a bed made up from two singles.

    Bet you were glad to get home? :)

    Stayed there before. Room needed a paint, new carpet and a good hoovering.

    It’s in Fleet street?? what did you expect? it is a suburb of the earliest of the many tax dodges introduced by Charlie Haughey…..

    Only stayed there once, only gripe I had was half the tv channels didn’t work and neither the wired or wireless internet worked. after paying for an internet card there I ended up having to use internet in the lobby.

    Certainly a million miles from the luxury advertised on their website. Looks like you got shunted to the stag party wing rather that the woman-in-bath-with-candles wing.
