Want to start selling on Facebook?
If you are start-up selling on-line one of the most difficult choices is your choice of check-out partner/software.
A new start-up called Payvment looks quite interesting.
Leena has a pretty comprehensive view on it and having tested it I really like it.
The really interesting part of payvment for me are four things, it works with 20 currencies from launch, you need no further merchant account partner besides PayPal, it enables you to sell on Facebook and if someone starts a purchase on another domain they can continue it on my site so no missed selling opportunities, surely anything that helps on a poor conversion rate is an improvement.
“Unlike shopping carts of the past, a consumer’s cart items stays with them across any website using the web service. The consumer has the ability to purchase your items in their cart even if they have already left your website. Plus the consumer can have a cart that includes items that belong to multiple retailers with a single checkout that pays you and all other retailers in one transaction. No kidding”
Their FAQ’s are pretty comprehensive and I cant see a catch here

This post is perfect timing to something I’m working at the moment….
Who is behind it?
What is their track record?
I’ve been very badly burnt by these kind of companies in the past. A few years ago we lost several thousand when two payment processors failed within a few months – it was incredibly painful.
