I love it when I see smart comments and I am not just saying that because they agree with me:)

It is true that every entreprenuer selling a technology (which both Spinvox and PhoneTag do) should consider themselves lucky when Google steps into their market. As Romi said above, every other carrier now needs to offer this product to their customer base.

Thanks again Google for offering voicemail to text… oh and also thanks for coming out with a product less then half the quality of PhoneTag! You guys rock!

Very cool post… the way i see it is that this will be very good for both Spinvox and PhoneTag.

Every operator is going to have their hand forced to bring in Voice to Text before Google steals all their interconnect revenues!

Google will release access to the speech engine as an API with the sole function of driving up the VR performance in every territory (not just USA);

Access to “enterprise 2.0″/ re-sellers could be facilitated through the App’s sale, with SLA;

The Mashup capability of Voice with email, notes, and docs is a strong attractor for developers.

The problem is they don’t have the carriers to don’t have universal coverage and reach. This is fatal. But an opportunity for both SpinVox and PhoneTag.

Entrepreneurship is not about protectionism, fear of competition and other restrictive behaviour.
Competiton will only benefit the market.

Real entrepreneurs are innovators, not copycats and so should be able to boldly face off oppostition from their competition as they are offering something unique, with added value to their customers.
